Where do you live and work?
I from Bs. As and I live and work downtown in San Telmo, a historic neighborhood. Although most of my shootings take place in Bs. As., I´m used to traveling for work.
What is your favourite type of photography?
It would be hard to choose just one type of photography. I like several photographers such as Capa, Bresson, Newton, Ansel Adams, Robert Frank, Robert Mapplethorpe and Terry Richardson -more modern and with his hard flash. What I really admire is cinematography, American cinema of the 70s, Hitchcock, Scorsese, Coppola and Fincher. Cinematographers like Khondji, John Seale, Gordon Willis.
What do you try to express through your photography?
I´m always framing pictures in my mind, whether I have a camera or not. I believe in training your sight, looking beyond what you´re seeing, trying to capture what may be invisible to others and show it through my eyes. If you look hard, there´s always something else, something more to see, an escence to life. I think that is what photography is all about.
How do you choose your subjects?
If I have the freedom to choose because I´m not working in a campaign or editorial shooting where the clients call the shots, I like working with the human body (mainly actresses, dancers and athletes). I don´t like giving directions, I trust the models to do what they are good at so that the shooting flows naturally. I´m there to freeze those moments in time.
What is your next plane/project?
My plans for the near and long term future:
-keep looking closely
