Baby, I’m your DJ! – NOAHMusic , am 31. Dezember 2013 in
Der amerikanische Musiker, Songwriter und Produzent NOAH wohnt in New York City. Sein Debütsong „New York is Dead“ war 20 Wochen in den DJ Times National Dance Charts auf Platz 16 zwischen Mariah Carey mit „Triumphant“ und „Dark Side“ von Kelly Clarkson. Am 21. Juni kletterte der Song auf Platz 15 der U.K. Music Week Commercial/Pop Charts. Es folgte die Single „No More Angels“, mit der er in den DJ Times Chart National Club Charts auf Platz 39 landete und darauf kam seine Single „Keep on Moving“.
For those of us that are new to you and your work, can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the middle of the country in Iowa.. exactly in the middle of the USA. I spent my last year of high school in the Netherlands, studied Music Business at Columbia College Chicago and then moved to London for a year and half before moving to New York City. Music was always my passion…along with acting, psychology and philosophy. My goal as a songwriter/producer and performer is to move others to either vicariously experience what I am going through or to motivate the engineering of original human designs. To inspire! What is life without inspiration?
How would you describe your sound?
I’m not sure really. I feel am mix-mosh of lots of things. I can’t even say that I have one major influence. Certainly house, electro, EDM and pop are all great tags… yet I just want to do what I do.
What or who are your inspirations and who do you want to work with in the future?
I’m inspired by too much. I wish I could contain it all… catalog it and reference it better! Certainly, I would like to work with Zedd, Avicci, Calvin, Tiesto and Armin… there are so many great people to collaborate with. I think polygamy is the way to go in music… I am sure I may will some steady partners but diversity keeps things spicy.
Has their been a time when music hasn’t been enough?
Music is not enough… but it is the vehicle. It is my center of gravity. The end goal is to express, share and connect. The visual world is extremely important as well… even if no one is seeing things as I do.
And finally what can we expect from your future records? Any surprises?
There is a surprise. I have recorded a feature with Pink Panda (UK) titled ‘Man in the Making”which will be released in the early part of 2014. It’s going to be a big year for the Pandas and I. We will be showcasing at the Winter Music Conference (Miami) in March.
